While I was in TX, I went out with Daryl shooting pics. For the 1st time, I ACTUALLY took pics with a big girl, real photographer camera!! I'll have to say, it was a really awesome experience, all the way around, from beginning to end.
So, me & my big girl camera went wandering through The Grove, an old ghost town village in TX. This is one of my first shots I took. Now let me just say..photography, it's rules of thumb, & the do's & don'ts, DO NOT APPLY TO ME!!! This girl was just wantin to have fun!!
Anyhoo, when I saw that this flower had pushed itself through cracks in this hard, compacted, old concrete, blooming & vibrant, it brought the biggest smile to my face!! It was as if I had found a gift, a treasure. What something so random brought to my attention is that no matter how we feel about ourselves; cracked & broken, hard-hearted, compacted & weighed down by the stresses of our past, or maybe old & nothing to offer, there is STILL something so beautiful inside each & every one of us!! God is NOT finished with you, with us. Don't dwell in all of the areas in which you feel or see as imperfect, but embrace them & believe that it is your imperfections that He uses to bring priceless, unexplained beauty to the light...just as He did with this flower, growing & blooming, inside of concrete.
Isaiah 43: 18-1918 "Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history. 19 Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.
